Graywalkers: Purgatory game RPG hits Kickstarter campaign
Graywalkers: Purgatory is the first in a series of Emergent Strategic and Tactical Turn-based 3D Role-Playing Games set in a stylish supernatural post-apocalyptic world, where parts of Heaven, Hell and Earth have merged together in an event called “The Rupture”. It will be released for PC (Windows, Mac & Linux) as both Steam and DRM-free versions.
Graywalkers: Purgatory is an emergent Tactical Turn-based, supernatural post-apocalyptic RPG inspired by Fallout, X-Com and Jagged Alliance. It takes place in a dystopian world called Purgatory, where parts of Heaven and Hell have somehow merged with Earth.
On September 24th, 2014, Dreamlords Digital launched a Kickstarter campaign for Graywalkers, with a funding goal of $40,000. This was their second attempt to get funded on Kickstarter.
Having played the early Graywalkers demo (available here for Windows, Mac and Linux) I must admit I was surprised to discover both a robust and enjoyable combat system and hints of a truly interesting game world. And everything looks really good too, especially considering this was a pre-alpha thing I tried.
If the team manages to realize the supernaturally ravaged world they seem to be envisioning and include all the exciting features they are promising from strategic management to a huge 3D overworld.
